The town of Orbetello sits on a small strip of land between to lakes, connecting the mainland to the Mount Argentario promontory.
 
The lakes or lagoons are enclosed by two strips of land called 'Tombolo della Feniglia' and 'Tombolo della Giannella', where visitors can enjoy long stretches of beaches bordered by a Nature Reserve.
